• Starving is the best way of losing weight: Crash diets, can not only spoil your health in the long run, but may also result in weight gain. This diet is too hard to maintain, and when your body is low on energy you would crave for high-sugar and high-fat foods. • Rigorous workout regime is the only way of losing weight: This is absolutely untrue. Sensible way of losing weight means increasing the pace of your physical activity levels slowly. It is said that adults between the age 19 and 64 need 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic physical activity every week. These activities may include fast cycling or fast walking. Those who are overweight need to do more than this to lose the excess weight.

• Healthy foods are expensive: Not necessarily so. You do not notice but you typically spend more for a high-fat, high-salt ready to use meals as compared to their alternatives. Instead, you can buy fresh ingredients and make meal yourself so that your intake of fresh food retains your health.

• Labels on foods saying ‘low-fat’, ‘reduced fat’ always work: Food labels can be misleading and you must preserve caution when you buy a snack which says ‘low-fat’ or ‘reduced-fat’.  What the label says and what the contents offer could be diametrically different, hence, do not blindly believe in it and do your own research before purchasing foods.

With a natural weight loss plan, you may succeed in losing weight in the long run. It is best not to hurry to lose weight with crash diets and severe deprivation as they may lead to development other conditions.
